I was a Summer School student, I had varied tasks as I worked with a range of the employees of the office. I worked in the office with different tasks such as entry of data, file upkeep. I was lucky enough to be sent out of the office on a client Audit. During this time one of my collegues was ill so I was responsible for some of her duties.
Although I did not gain any Qualification during my two weeks work experience. I do now have a place on the companies School Leaver Programme starting in september. I learnt alot during my time at BDO which encouraged me that this is what I want to do in the future
I enjoyed all the work tasks set as well as the social side of the work including lunch with collegues. The employees were all very friendly and welcoming. My expectation were meet and more as I was thought of an equal to them.
I felt very valued by BDO as my seniors noticed my hard work and my contributions to the Audit team.
The induction was in Birmingham and my travel was organised by BDO so that was helpful. I had hands on training my many different people. I had a buddy which was around for a chat and support if I need it as well as a senior member of staff for daily updates on how I felt. I feel that the programme was very organised as I was put on the work rota.
I did not receive any training from a training provider.
I felt very support by my buddy and mentor. They always asked if I was enjoying it and if I had any problems.
My travel costs to Birmingham on my induction and last day was sorted by the office. This was the only real cost there was.
During the two weeks I was at BDO there was a football tournment and office lunch.
Yes
As it was a very enjoyable experience, and I learnt a lot of new skills and information.
