Day to day I work along side the client service advisers helping with client work, preparing documents, invoicing and sending emails.
I have grown in confidence whilst been at Aon, I am confident in meeting new people, talking on the phone. Also my knowlege on Insurance and the renewal process has developed a lot in the past 7 months.
I really enjoy the programme. In the office I have been given lots of oppotunities to do different work and in different teams. The apprenticeship has exceeded my expectations.
Apprentices are highly thought of in Aon. In the first weeks of employement we met the CEO and other global leaders of Aon. Also when I do work for the team, I get credit and feel valued for the work I do.
Overall I think the programme has been well structured. Before starting at Aon we had a two week induction which involved team building with other apprentices and technical training. This allowed us to understand our roles before entering the office. The training in the office has also been well orgainised as it is varied and I always have work to do. As well as doing work my manager has helped me by allowing me to work with other areas in the office and attend relevant training sessions. I think the technical training in London has not been as organised as previous years, but hopefully will improve.
We recieve a training session every month in London for our exams, which allows us extra support as we can ask questions if we do not understand. H Also we have the training providers email address if we needed anything else.
I recieve alot of support. I have regular 1:1 meetings with my manager. During these she will make sure I have enough work to do, that I understand the work I am doing. Also if i have any questions I can always speak to her. Also my team is very supportive too, when ever I have a question they will answer this and they think of other work that i can do.
For an apprenticeship and for someone my age and lifstyle the salary is good. My living expenses are met plus i have enough to go out with friends/family afer.
Yes, I have been to social, internal and insurer events out of working hours with collegues
Yes
Aon is a great company to work for. The working environment is positve and everyone is welcoming. We get a lot of oppotunities to travel to other offices such as London and Manchester. Also they will support you though exams and other training.
The same advice given to me when I started. Aon do not expect you to know a lot about insurance, they are looking for someone who is wanting to learn.
