Process Technician- Rotate around each building that make different stages of the pharmaceuticals we produce. Follow a qualified process technician to gain knowledge of the products and plant, carry out the same tasks as the qualified process technician.
Initiative: taking it upon myself to find another process technician when mine is awaiting jobs Team Building: building a bond with my team and using that bond to work together and complete jobs effectively Time management: having a list of jobs to complete before a certain time
I really enjoy my apprenticeship and the opportunities on offer, the company not only help improve the quality of our patients lives but ours too by offering us a competitive salary and many opportunities to progress within the company
I feel very valued by GSK, we as apprentices are given a lot of credit for the work we do and members of staff including the site director know each and every one of us by name
We each have an individual plan of what we will be doing for the year, including all the assessments we have to complete by what week, which buildings we will be in and what we will be doing for the week, this is set up by our manager and we are given a copy at the start of our programme.
I feel my training provider is very supportive, we attend college once a week and during the times I am at work I am always able to email him if I have any problems and keep track of my work online
Our first point of contact is our manager who is very easy to talk to and will do his best to change whatever we are unhappy about, we also have mentors who will get us involved in projects on site and events. Overall I feel like I receive a lot of support as an apprentice.
Very well, It is one of the highest paid apprenticeships in my county.
We hold an orange day each year where we go out as a team of apprentices into the community and do some work for a local charity, as well as this we do STEM events and do other fundraising events.
