  • My job title is technical apprentice. I go through different areas of the business every 4 months, and gain as much of an understanding of the business as i can, i interact with everyone, from fellow workers to executives.

  • I have gained BTEC Levels 3-4 during my out of time training and im currently in the process of doing my foundation degree.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I very much enjoy the work i am given to do and feel included in the larger projects of the company.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by BAE Systems?
  • I feel like a fully valued employee with appreciation from the manager. Including involvemebt within tasks.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The apprenticeship system is well structured. With regular updates on my progress

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • There is a lot of support, with the attitude being one of support. And guidance for any problems i may have.

  • I have a lot of access to support from my employer, including guidance with any problems, and access to higher up team members.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • The salary is currently very generous and meets my needs for living independantly.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • There are many work sponsored and non work sponsored external activitys. There are also local leaisure clubs.

  • 9. Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Its a great company to build a career with. Withgood wages, and an excellent chance for progression.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
  • Go for it, its better than university, and leaves you in far less debt at the end.
