My job title is assistant associate and my daily tasks involve a variety of different audit tasks so the job is not necessarily the same each day. You can work from in the office or at a client site and are given lots of responsibility from day 1.
I have learned a variety of different skills as well as existing skills. I have improved my computer skills as well as communication and work ethic and have learned how to use all of the company specific software.
I enjoy my programme as it sets me apart from other people my age and gives me a broad range of experience I wouldn't have got from university. My colleagues are friendly and there are always social events on.
I feel valued as I am given a lot of responsibility for tasks which are crucial to an audit. You get to speak to important people from within the client base and can be in charge of a section of the audit.
The structure is very precise and I know exactly what I will achieve, when I will be promoted and when I have exams for the 5 year duration.
There is lots of support available from the training provider and if you need extra help outside of classroom hours then they won't hesitate to help.
There is support available from everybody I work with and they encourage us to ask questions because this helps us improve in the long term.
My salary is good and earn more than all of my friends who haven't gone to university and are doing similar schemes. This gives me plenty to pay for living costs, travel and still have a good social life.
There are always events on, these range from social events to accounting society events to sport to volunteering and going to explain the scheme to potential new employees.

It's a great place to work whilst becoming a chartered accountant and there are opportunities to develop everyday. There are also no limits to what you can achieve.
Make sure you practice for the online exams and have mock interviews with teachers or friends as all of this practice can make you stand out from other applicants and make you more likely to get the job.
