Audit Assistant Associate Daily Tasks: Working on the audits of highly recognized clients. To ensure their financial statements are of true representation I could either be based at the client site or at the Deloitte office and therefore no two days are the same as I can always moving about. Having meetings with clients to gather information. Working with seniors to understand the processes involved in an audit. You may be working on a client for several weeks and then move on to another one. This way not only do you work with so many different teams in Deloitte but also so many clients. If in exam season, revising for my ACA qualification. (Study leave or college)
Working towards ACA qualification There is a lot of internal training throughout the programme. This may be learning about the IT systems we use everyday or helping us understand our roles or about feedback.
Deloitte is such a prestigious company to work for that you are able to work with high end clients wherever they may be based. For example, one of my clients is based in Florida and therefore I worked out there for 3 weeks with my team. These are opportunities you may not get with other apprentices. It was better than my expectations, I had a lot more responsibilities than I expected and I am considered the same standard and a graduate entry. There are many other school leavers who start with you and therefore you gain a community straight away and have a wide variety of friends.
There was an induction at the beginning to introduce to you the firm. There is a buddy scheme to ensure you have someone to turn to if you are unsure.
For our exams we have a mixture of self study and college tuition. Seniors are always willing to help if you are stuck or unsure on your work.
The salary is very competitive for school leavers, especially as the majority will still be living at home with parents.
