Learnt audit skills from nil understanding, developed excel skills
Generally enjoyable
Appreciated when producing good work, but difficult to feel overly valued as a lower grade.
Very well organised, with specific tailored inductions, training, education. A good appraiser system.
Always contactable and willing to discuss any queries
People generally try to look out for/support lower grades - especially your allocated mentor ('buddy') and appraiser, who you can always go to with problems.
If living at home, salary is very comfortable, but first year would potentially be a struggle if renting somewhere/not living at home. Second year there is a good salary increase. Fuel/travel expenses reimbursed, discounted phone bills - means there aren't many day to day costs which aren't covered or discounted.
Many company events/groups, usually something to suit most people
Yes
Many benefits to the scheme, especially compared to university. Potential for reasonably quick progression in the firm, excellent name to have on a CV
Practice numeric/verbal reasoning tests online. Research Deloitte specific interview questions - won't find word for word questions, but will find the personal qualities they want to hear in an answer (e.g. an example of leadership, problem solving etc.), meaning you can then prepare answers rather than having to think on your feet under pressure.
