- High Net Worth Tax Analyst - Compliance and advisory based client tax work - Meeting with senior partners, high net worth individuals and celebrities at client meetings and networking events - Client due diligence - Drafting reports and advice, as well as preparing briefings and presentations - Wide range of projects
- Studying for the ACA and CTA joint qualifications - Soft skills training delivered by Noggin - Effective writing course including grammar and communication skills
Really enjoy it and like the people, the company culture and the content of the job role. It has exceeded my expectations.
- Feedback is regular, constructive and encouraging. - Bonus structure is poor. - In first year everyone gets given a blanket rating of 'fair' which doesn't seem sensible given that some people work much harder than others and don't get appropriate recognition for it. - Overtime isn't paid, and sometimes there is a lack of incentive to stay late and try hard because the reward system is poor. - Involvement and inclusion is very good.
- Induction is excellent. It is a three week residential course with the tax analyst intake including a week of technical training, a week of soft skills training and a week of client simulation. All of this helps prepare you for the office and makes sure that you can hit the ground running. - We are allocated a buddy and an appraiser when we join, which works as a good support system. The buddy is someone we can ask 'silly' questions to, and our appraiser is someone who helps chat through career progression, objectives and targets.
- We receive great support from our tuition provider - First Intuition. Tutors are available on mobile numbers and personal email addresses. I was even able to get hold of my tutor on Boxing Day! - Very supportive attitude to progression through the qualification, and everyone is always happy to help with problems / worries / questions
Good support from manager, appraiser and buddy. Supportive and encouraging attitude to my progression.
- While I recognise that my salary is good in comparison to other school leaver schemes, I do feel that it does not adequately meet the cost of living in London. - I have needed to take out a £1,500 loan to support the costs of living in London (travel, rent, food, social etc)
- Deloitte has a great social network, and lots of activities and societies to get involved with. I recently went sailing with Deloitte. - There is a gym - Deloitte works in partnership with other big brands and firms to offer employees 'special offers' - Charity committee work offers opportunities
Yes
- Great career progression opportunities - pay goes up quickly! - The chance to gain a prestigious qualification, with first class support from a leading firm - A structured training programme to build both technical and soft skills - A great social network - Interesting and challenging work
- Be yourself! - Don't worry about the maths side of things too much - there are computers for that - Deloitte are very much interested in you as a person. - On boarding process was very efficient and informative when I started. - No such thing as a silly question!
