I am an Analyst in Consulting. My typical daily tasks include use of Excel and SharePoint - making formulas, creating and maintaining a SharePoint portal. I am also responsible for booking meeting rooms and setting up meetings
Yes. In this Level 6 Apprenticeship I complete a BSc Honours Degree in Business Technology and am in the midst of BCS Professional Qualifications. These qualifications along with skills developed in the office have made me a much more valuable asset.
I enjoy my work, and all the people I work with are lovely and good team workers. There are lots of work socials to maintain networks. I thoroughly enjoy my programme.
I have been very fortunate with the people I work with in that they all give me credit where it's due and I have been given good feedback which should start to create my 'name' in the firm. I have felt valued in my projects to date.
The Brightstart induction was well organised, and there was various training courses set up in our first 4 months as new joiners. We have a support network which is good. There was slowness at times but overall a well-structured programme.
There is a suitable amount of support provided by our uni lecturers, most lecturers were very helpful although there was one who did not provide as much support.
I receive support when required. All Brightstarts have a 'buddy' who is there for help and support, and there are also managers and other analysts who we can ask for support from depending on the problem.
My salary is sufficient for my costs. Travel expenses are my most expensive cost and although the salary is quite low, when you take into account that Deloitte is paying for my degree it balances out.
Deloitte is a very social firm so there are social events almost every other week. A couple of times a year there are also voluntary events where we help the local community.
Yes
It is a good firm to work for and is definitely one of the more social ones about with lots of opportunity to meet new people. I think the people are one of Deloitte's biggest assets which isn't a bad asset to have.
To school leavers considering the scheme I would say, yes the application and interview process seems daunting, but it's worth it in the end and you will feel all the more accomplished for getting through the process. It is a firm with many opportunities, for both travel and career progression and it is an opportunity not to be missed.
