  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am a part of the technology consulting practise within the company. My work depends on what project I am on, which means you are continuously learning new things and developing. But in general my day to day tasks include attending meetings and workshops, doing analysis in Excel and creating presentations and documents. All in all this contributes to helping our clients come up with and deliver new and innovative solutions for some of their toughest tech issues.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Deloitte is fantastic at providing training! Depending on your specialism Deloitte aligns you to the best industry qualifications. In technology consulting we are studying towards two BCS qualifications, and next year we will be working towards a brand new consulting apprenticeship. There is also the potential to study towards other qualifications that you are interested in, such as degrees or other chartered diplomas.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Deloitte?
  • Very much so! The company does a lot to make us feel valued and important. But I feel especially as apprentices we are very valued. Deloitte are very forward thinking and know that the apprentice route is a big area of growth. They show this by giving us additional support, lots of learning and development opportunities and by providing a great community atmosphere.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very well structured. Depending on the area you work in there is a set structure, mostly based around your qualifications. Each year of the programme builds on the next, building you up to become a 'regular' full time employee at the end of the programme.

  • Look into the area of Deloitte you are interested in before hand. You don't need to know everything but get a general idea of what we do.
