I am an assistant associate in Audit in Aberdeen. I often work at oil and gas companys and audit the companies balances, which can range from cash, debtors, crediors, fixed assets etc. I interact with a range of senior people within Deloitte (Managers, Partners) and at clients I regularly speak with Financial Controllers and sometimes the CEO or directors. My responsibilities are quite high as the work I perform needs to be the correct figures to avoid any misstatement.
My confidence when interacting with clients have grown immensely since joining Deloitte last September. I have also improved a large skill set within Microsoft Excel and the EMS system I use daily which is something I did not ever use before working here.
I enjoy being in different locations at clients instead of being in the same office everyday. I have been to various locations across the UK already which has opened my eyes to different ways of working and industries that there is. I am enjoying working at different clients however sometimes it can be hard to balance working with studying at night which can bring down my morale.
I feel valued as feedback I have received on the jobs I have worked on has been really positive.
I think it is well organised in terms of working. However, when it comes to exams there could be more done in preparation for the final exams.
A lot when working as I am working with many different experienced auditors however with exams I feel that I am left to my own devices at times.
I have not really been in a situation where I have needed a lot of support as of yet.
The salary is very good for a first year apprenticeship compared to any others I have heard of.
Yes, there is a lot of committees to get involved in and there is social events held which are good fun.
Yes
There is lots of different job roles within Deloitte and as it is a global organisation there is international opportunities.
Be confident and prepare for your interview but just be yourself most importantly.
