I currently work as an audit associate at Deloitte. My day to day tasks include the analytical and substantive testing of accounts. On a day to day basis I work with a multitude of people, many experts in their fields. Externally I work with a large number of clients
In my time at Deloitte I have learned many new skills & grown as a person. I have taken part in a large number of external & internal courses
Teamworking and culture
Sometimes I feel valued sometimes I feel expendable.
The programme itself is well organised and structured
A fair amount.
Support is given by Colleagues rather than the firm
The salary I'm on is good if not exceptional for a school leaver. Compared to the other big four firms it's a lot, with regular increases yearly. However if I was paid hourly, the amount I currently receive would pale.
Outside of work we have social events and networking. I was recently flown down to London for a networking event with the other school leavers.
No
Hours are extremely challenging & I believe there are better alternatives available. My friends would not be able to cope with the pressure and stress of the position
Ensure that you are the type of person who works well under pressure. During my 9 months at Deloitte I have been exposed to high pressure situations, however I feel that this has helped me to develop.
