I am involved in the point of sale aspect of the OOH Ice cream team. I am in charge of stock check, visibility, team co-ordination and external newsletters. I deal with a team of 15 on a daily basis. I am very pleased with how the apprenticeship is going. I co-ordinate externally with out storage company as well as making sure any issues are dealt with such as late deliveries.
I have learned valuable lesson's such as how to make use of outlook for office as well as Microsoft windows programmes. There are several opportunities for internal training courses such as excel and team building. I have expanded my skills on power-point and excel.
My work load has become much bigger as I get more experienced in my daily tasks. My team are very welcoming and I feel I can ask any question without prejudice. It has exceeded my expectations as I am working in different aspects of the company which I have never done before.
My line manager is very easy to talk to. He is good at answering emails and extending my work load when appropriate. I have received some emails expressing how good my work has been. I am currently involved in 2 projects and I really feel valued as a member of the team.
Our induction was very informative. We were shown how the programme co-insides with our daily tasks and how our coursework is a valuable aspect. I have daily meetings with my line manager and monthly meetings with our coursework assessor and weekly meetings with the Apprentice Employment Agency.
I receive excellent support from my training advisor. I am able to ask questions about coursework and I receive a response within a reasonable time limit. I am really enjoying the programme so far and I can't wait to see where this will lead me.
My manager is very supportive. If he is in meetings I can always email or phone him and he never makes me feel awkward for asking too many questions. I feel like a valued member of the team.
The salary and package meets my costs very well. I am able to pay rent and travel daily without fear of running out of money. Location is ideal as there is a bus from the local train station.
There are a few opportunities outside of work. We get use of the gym as part of our salary package. In the gym there are daily classes as well as personal training sessions. As part of our team we have quarterly meetings which are great to see other team members in a social aspect outside of work.
Yes
Very supportive and welcoming with continued reassurance and goal setting as you progress through the apprenticeship. You can never ask too many questions.
Be yourself. The application process is not like any other I have been to, but that is a positive thing as it shows Unilever how you work well as part of a team as well as using your initiative. The experience is so valuable as you get to see how a large company works whilst feeling supported and opportunities to show what you are capable of.
