I'm a project manager, I create power point guides, take meeting minutes, help create network templates, sit in on brand meetings discussing new innovative products. I am also involved in the apprenticeship community.
I will receive a foundation degree once I finish and I will also have the chance to carry on my studies within the company.
It is a completely different job role to any I have been in before hand, it changes from day to day and keeps me interested constantly. It's great working with people from different cultures in the company too.
I feel that I am valued greatly and the team appreciate me being here to help with tasks and learn on the job. I believe that my chances of carrying on work here are higher now I've had the experience with Unilever.
It is well organised, I am told exactly what I need to do and when for. I am given constant support and the chance to study once a week.
I am extremely supported, I know if I have a problem inside or outside of work I can ask for help or just a confidential chat.
the HR team are extremely helpful with any queries and my calendar has already been organised to have exam dates and studies in it.
It suits me well at the moment as I am paying rent and I also own a car so I buy petrol a few times a month to get to work. If I need to travel with work though I can claim it back which is brilliant.
There is a constant list of changing outside events that is put up in the toilets in each building and a newsletter set out. This consists of community events.
Yes
everyone is so friendly, willing to help you and it feels like a community rather than a workplace.
Be observant, willing to get involved, be friendly, be confident. Ask about the role the job will entail, perhaps also opportunities and salary too. Don't put all of your eggs in one basket and apply for many apprenticeships (this may not be the one for you so explore)
