I work in pedestrian modelling and visualisation. In pedestrian modelling I will run dymanic modelling to add results to a report. In Visualisation, I will do animations, videos and photography
First Aid at Work, 3DS max Design, Microstation, Adobe creative cloud
Everyone is very friendly, and I have a very varied workload which is very interesting dispite the occasional down time
I feel valued by my team and manager
The scheme is relatively well structured, it is clear they are still working on improving it as problems are identified
From the college theres is limited support, as well as a lacking plan of instruction. Often being set assignments on topics they have not taught or have not finished yet.
All work is very well supported by other members of the team if I need it, and if im happy with it they trust me to get on with it without checking constantly.
The salary is a poor point for mott macdonald(After the first year), not being competitive to many other companies(As you progress with sklill and time), many of which are a lot smaller. The locations is good being outside of central London. Living costs are negligible.. as the salary doesn't really leave enough for rent, so the option is to stay at home while training is continuing. This is offset though for me by the interesting and varied workload.
There are lots of STEM events with work that are made available as well as many work socials. Although I have very little time outside of work free due to being a Volunteer for air cadets
Yes
Because it a very well respected company and the workload combined with the experience is a great start to a career
Try and get as involved as possible with more than one team and that salary will not make a significant change until all training is done
