I work in Risk Report Re-engineering team at JP Morgan. I am working on a project to improve the reports efficiency, stability and controls. My daily roles are to analyse the reports and see where the developers could make improvements.
I am currently completing three CISI exams. Also, In the workplace, I have learnt so many skills including reading VBA coding in an Excel spread sheet, learning about formulas used within Excel and gaining knowledge around all the data sources which feed raw data in reports. In addition, I have gained business analyst skills, learning how to analyse reports
I really enjoy the programme, the team I have been put on are brilliant. The work itself is enjoyable and at times challenging which is good. The culture in the workplace is really good, the amount of social activities both my team and the apprenticeship organise is fantastic. It has definitely met my expectations of the apprenticeship scheme.
I am valued the same as any other employee at J.P. Morgan. I have had so much recognition for the work I have produced so far on the project.
The structure of the apprenticeship scheme is really organised. Before we started in the offices, we had a two week bootcamp with all the other apprentices on the same scheme. The two weeks included an introduction into the programme, getting to meet the training providers, getting to know everyone else on the same scheme and also was the start for developing our skills. Once we started in the office we have one day a week as our study day. On this day we have morning lectures and then the rest of the day to revise. The rest of the week we are in the office doing our job role.
The training providers have been really helpful and supportive in training us for the exams. They have been really easy to get hold off when asking them questions about the exams.
I couldn't fault the support I have had from my managers. They have been really supportive around the whole scheme especially my exams. They also have given so much opportunity and responsibility enabling me to grow and expand my skills.
The salary is really good for an apprenticeship scheme. All of our training is paid for and I find the salary is sufficient for my living costs.
There are so many activities you can get involved with at JP Morgan. There are sports activities, volunteering events, choirs and many social events.
Yes
The support I have had from the company is really good. So far throughout the apprenticeship, my managers have really supported my studies along with given me a lot of opportunities to develop my skills and knowledge.
Throughout the application process and interviews be yourself and read about what you're applying for. Ask lots of relevant questions about the job as it helps you to understand a lot more about the company.
