Assisting Audit seniors in planning and completion of audits. Working on executing relevant testing and other tasks.
Yes, I have learnt a variety of skills, increasing my knowledge of audit as well as being able to manage more responsibility and workload. I was given lots of advice and training on how to progress and work at the best of my ability in my role.
I enjoyed the programme quite a lot, I enjoyed working with different people and different clients. It exceeded my expectations on how much I learnt from my role. BDO is a great place to work.
I felt reasonably valued at BDO, there were times were I was given large amounts of responsibility which encouraged me to work harder. I enjoyed working hard at BDO, and I feel that most team members appreciate the work you have done.
The programme was well structured, however in terms of the qualification, due to the change in our exam learning, as we no longer go to college, I felt that this was a change that BDO should've involved the trainees before making a decision. They could have asked and have a survey of what trainees at BDO thought about self-learning rather than going to college before making the decision.
I did not sit any exams at BDO, therefore I cannot comment on this.
A lot of support from my manager, and manager on client jobs. Audit seniors were very helpful. I was given a buddy however the buddy did not once introduce herself to me, which was poor as I was confused on what to do and where to go when I started. My counselling partner did not also introduce herself to me which was terrible as I did not once have a catch up meeting of any sort with her.
Salary package was good in terms of costs, it met my travel and food costs well as well as daily costs.
There were a couple of sports events that I could've got involved in, and there were also a few company events.
Yes
Great company to work for in terms of career progression and knowledge.
Be confident and try not to be nervous. BDO are very friendly and make you feel comfortable in the interviews and assessment days. Ask a lot of questions to ensure you know what you are applying for.
