I am currently on a client relationship role, meaning I handle queries, attend client meetings and perform meetings with individuals regarding their tax affairs.
I have learnt how to write emails with a professional tone. I've also learnt how to speak confidently and professionally at client meetings and while talking to all individuals. I have learnt all the rules surrounding personal tax, and explaining this to someone of no tax background.
I really love the people I work with, and how supportive they are, especially when you are new to the team. I really appreciate that my client facing role allows me to talk to new people all the time.
I always feel very valued and well informed. I receive feedback constantly both positive and constructive and this really helps my development. I also feel as though the team are very inclusive and I'm often asked if I would like to take part in meetings with clients and even other areas within PwC.
The programme is very well organised, especially now that it has been running for a long time, this is great as there are a lot of people who have also gone through the process who I can turn to with any queries. The training and studying are very carefully set out meaning that you complete it all with people within your team.
You are assigned a general coach for the programme, who made it very clear straight away that we could turn to her with any problems that we have.
I have a very large support network. From the very first day I was assigned a people manager, coach and buddy. I am also very close with members of my team who I know I can turn to with any problems, and also the other Higher Apprentices in my year.
My salary well covers my costs including travel costs, living costs and other general daily costs. Your salary is also very likely to rise from your starter salary every year.
There are lots of opportunities for community volunteering, the One Firm One Day is a day the whole firm spends volunteering for local charities. The office location is also prime for lots of other activities and clubs. There are also teams within the company to participate in.

PwC is a very friendly, supportive and family style environment to work in. It has a very big team atmosphere and everyone is always keen for you to structure your own career and to push you but only to a level you are happy with. I've had a very positive experience at PwC.
They aren't looking for achedemic impressiveness but rather someone who is well rounded and a good team player. I would suggest ensuring that you contribute as much as possible to any group activities and also to volunteer for any opportunities sent your way.
