Involved in the audit of large listed clients. I am a junior member of the audit team and my daily tasks involve performing testing over the lines of the financial statements. Lots of client interaction - get to meet very senior members of the client such as financial director.
Communication skills, confidence, IT skills, technical skills
I like the mix of study and work, although it is hard to remember material from lectures at the beginning of the year to be examined in June, after having been on a placement in between.
PwC treat me as if I were a full time permanent employee
Very well organised, I know exactly what exams I have and when, when I will be on placement.
Lots of support whilst at university, and if I need support whilst on placement they are more than happy to help.
My colleagues are very understanding of my ability and therefore can offer the right support
My salary more than meets my costs. I receive a full salary and may accommodation and bills are paid for.
There are many social events and opportunities to get to know colleagues
Yes
Very good opportunity to get some good experience with a reputable company. It will open other opportunities too. They are various departments within the firm as well so there is opportunity there too.
Be confident but make sure you do your research before the interview as the interviewer will be able to tell if you haven't. Speak to people who have been through the process before as this will help you prepare. Keep up to date with current news as this might come up in an interview.
