My role as an Analyst is to provide support for any Bid work or project work which I am assigned to. My daily task would make heavy use of Microsoft Office packages. My responsibilities can change depending on what task I am assigned at the time. If i am on a project this may be to complete work to the best of my ability in a timely manner.
Yes, the course has enabled me to learn a lot of new skills including training on Microsoft Office packages and completing the British Computing Society degree. I have also developed personal skills including presentation, speech and writing. Through the BCS course I have learnt about how a Business operates internally and how its processes work.
I really enjoy my programme because I love the world of business. I find it very interesting learning about how companies run and enjoy being able to find ways of trying to improve them. Deloitte is a fantastic company with lots of opportunities to travel and expand your personal network which is a massive bonus.
I feel that my hard work it recognised and appreciated by those who I complete a piece of work for. Deloitte have a reward scheme called "Limelight" which managers can nominate you for a prize if they decide you have worked very well. Regardless of how big or small your involement is, your efforts are still recognised.
The BrightStart scheme is the first of its kind in Belfast and therefore does have some flaws which could be fixed, however, this enables us to correct it for the next years intake and ensure it is to a high standard. Induction into the company was fantastic with lots of welcome events and chances to meet and talk to the people we would be working with. Training and support sometimes lacks standard as the majority of people who are meant to be giving the training/support are busy on projects. However, Deloitte do provide constant Training courses which are run throughout the year. The only downside is that these are mostly in London and require travel and hotels which are very expensive.
Very good, if i do have a problem I am able to contact them via email and they usually respond very promptly. Alternatively I am able to go speak to them in person.
Support for any problems I have is always good, anytime I need something I can usually contact my managers and they are at hand to help the situation.
My salary meets my costs comfortably however this is due to not having many expenses at this age. This margin would be significantly closer in later life due to mortgages and family expenses.
Deloitte constantly run corporate events where staff meet up for drinks and socialise. They also have a number of societies such as football and sailing however the majority of these clubs are over in London due to there being a larger number of people and interest shown.
Yes
They are a fantastic company to work for and are providing a really good scheme which can set you up for life. The degree programme is something everyone should look into applying for as Deloitte pay for our degree meaning no student debt. This is something that hangs over people for the majority of there life and can cause major problems in the future.
Be open and honest. Deloitte is a people focused company and they thrive of hiring every individual for not only their skills but personality. Be eager and open to try new things as you will be pushed to excel into much bigger and better things.
