  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My apprenticeship is based on training me to become a deputy manager. As part of my apprenticeship i move around the warehouse working under each of the different departments to expand my experience and knowledge. My day to day role will change depending which department i am on. My job role is varied.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I work close with deputy managers in the departments i am on. These are the people who run shift mainly for the department heads. These people train me and i have developed in my existing skills by taking knowledge from different departments and sticking them all together to give me a better understanding on how to fulfill my duty more efficiently.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my programme quite a lot. Mainly down the change in my job role, with me moving around departments it keeps the job entertaining as each day is different to the last in some cases.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Aldi?
  • I feel fairly valued due to me being a trainee manager, some staff members's expect me to be a future manager which makes me value the job even more as the opportunity for me to become a high up and valued member of the company is recognized.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I would say it is well structured. I know which department i will be going to next, what time i start and what my expected role on that department will be. I receive training where training will be needed for my job role. I rcieve a good amount of support with managers asking how it's going on regukar occasions.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • I have monthly meetings with my training provider, which i don,t feel is enough in terms of support, as it can be difficult to get a hold of my trainer at times.

  • I get a good amount of support from my employer whenever seek it.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • For my current lifestyle fairly well. This is based on paying car insurance as well as socializing with friends. However, if i were to take on more expenses such as accommodation costs or providing fr a family, i wold struggle.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • I don,t feel like their are my company opportunities outside of the work place. And with my changing shift times, it is hard to stick to a routine for leisure clubs such as a football club or socializing with friends on a set schedule.

  • Yes

  • It is a good company to work for in terms of opportunity for promotions.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Aldi?
  • To learn what the role you will be given requires from you and to make sure that you will be able to meet the expectations as work ate is taken very seriously here at aldi.
