I work within software testing, and every day is different. Typically I would start by catching up on the latest project emails. I would then get ‘hands on’ with the system and carry out testing, which can involve testing areas such the performance, security or usability of the system. The aim is to detect any defects and ensure the software is the best quality possible. The systems we test can range from small recruitment systems to entire enterprise applications at the core of a business with 30,000 employees.
Lots of new skills, both technical and soft skills such as communications, decision making etc.
I very much enjoy the programme. It can be demanding, but also very rewarding.
We are well respected and included by Deloitte.
Very clear path for each year of the programme.
Lots of support. The University treat us as normal students
Lots of support. We are allowed to attend lots of training, even if it means travelling to London.
Salary increases every year for the next five years. I live at home and it meets my costs fully.
