i work with trades men that experienced in steel work they have been training me to weld, burn, gring, bend and set plate and mark off on steelwork
i have learnt/learning the new skills of core steelworker but i have also been developing existing skills like communication and work as part of a team
i enjoy doing my job as you can look at the work you have just produced and can see what it is for and why it has been made. i take pride in the products we make.
I feel valued they have helped me to learn something i enjoy and they have been helpful at all times throughout the training i havent felt like they hve forgot about me or don't listen.
it is well structed at the start of my apprentaship they have been clear with targets and you know what needs to be done and when by. everything seems to be well orginised.
my training providers in college have been good they have been helpful and are knowledgeable and are always happy to help if you dont understand anything.
through my apprentaship i have had support from my learning co-ordinators when ever i have asked. they are always keeping in contact to ask if everything is ok and if you need help.
the money i earned in my old job was slighly higher than when i first started but it is higher than most apprentaships around and i managed fine i had enough for my bills and enough to do hings i wanted.
there are alot within the trade you can go all over the world and are regarded highly if you can prove the products you have worked on through your appentaship.
