I work within the advisory team (performance improvement-UK&I) and during my 3 week placement I worked within a team on an internal project. Day to day tasks included powerpoint presentations, creating new ideas and meeting with the team to discuss them.
I developed teamwork skills, presentation skills, communication skills and networking skills during my short placement
I enjoy working in a team and developing my personal skills. It is a great way to meet new people and get an idea of the real working environment. It is challenging but rewarding
EY makes everyone feel valuable to the company and emphasises the friendly nature of all workers, who make you feel comfortable and valued just as much as every single person in the company
The programme was well organised from start to finish and I received various emails before I started my placement so that I understood where I was meant to be and what I would be doing.
I mainly received support from family
There are various ways of support that you can find through their 'buddy' and 'counsellor' system. Although I didn't use them much in my short placement
The salary is extremely good
After speaking to older scholars who have taken part in the scholarship programme, they emphasised the various opportunities for us outside of work.
