I am a Trainee Tax Advisor. I specialise in advising large companies with their indirect tax issues and help them meet their related statutory deadlines.
yes, my Tax/VAT knowledge as been developed greatly, as well as my interpersonal skills. I am also studying towards the ICAEW ACA professional qualification, so my technical knowledge of accounting and accounting ethical standards.
I enjoy the day to day work. it is nice to work in such a diverse team.
I feel a lot of my team want to see me succeed and I feel supported by them both in work and with external exams.
Not very, despite being 2 years into a 5 year programme, our exam co-ordination team still struggle to finalise college and exam dates. it is also disappointing that my professional exams are not sorted for my tax specific studying.
Kaplan are good, although I believe the experiences I have had depend greatly on the tutors individual nature.
On a business level, not that much
Not well. I do feel the school leaver programme salary package is more suited to individuals that still live at home. I pay rent in the city centre and would prefer to have more money.
yes, I am an avid networker but there seems to be an increasing battle to get budgets for such activities of late.

the people culture is really good, always a friendly face. it is a nice environment to come into straight after uni or college
go in with the right attitude and network as much as possible.
