I am involved with the Private Client Tax Team, I work day to day preparing personal, trust and partnership tax returns with some involvement with the advisory work undertaken by the Firm.
I have learnt about the preparation of tax returns as well as how personal tax is calculated and works in practice.
I enjoy my work very much as I have ownership of actual clients and enjoy working within my team.
I feel very valued by RSM, as they are actively involved in all aspects of my apprenticeships and my seniors are always looking to include me in work they are completing to keep me engaged.
My program is well structured within the Firm, I know when I am studying and they make allowances for this. I have flexibility within the Apprenticeship coursework which enables me to work when I have capacity to do so.
I have six weekly meetings with my assessor regarding my progress and BPP works hard to meet my needs as an apprentice. Sometimes their admin can be difficult to manage but overall this is well managed.
I am well managed internally by my Exam Training Manager towards exam goals and other deadline dates.
My salary is substaintial enough that I am able to save a lot whilst living at home and I should be able to move out should I chose to. I am also looking to purcahse my own car in the short term future.
There is a dedicated Social Committee team which orangises internal events and there is also scope for business development through various networking events being held for and by the Firm.
Yes
RSM is a fantastic place to work and the people are all really nice to work with. They always want to encourage you to do your best and it is a very encouraging place to work.
Be yourself in the interview and don't be too scared, if you make it to interview stage then you have passed a rigorous review stage which means you deserve to be here.
