The EY skills academy was a great opportunity to learn about the EY school leaver programme, network with EY employees. The two days consisted of developing a greater understanding of the roles within EY and then pitching our ideas for scenario.
I definitely improved my team working skills as we were put in groups from the moment we arrived there was definitely an opportunity to improve our presenting skills.
I thought the programme was fantastic. EY and all the employees were very accommodating and definitely were willing to answer any questions we had. The barbecue in the evening was a great opportunity to network.
I definitely feel that EY really valued everyone on the programme with many people going on to do the School Leaver programme. Even talking to a EY partner made me feel valued.
The programme was very well structured with tasks organised followed by breaks and presentations by different members of the EY school leaver team.
Definitely received a lot of support from all employees that made this event possible. I had a fantastic time and would recommend it all who are looking for experience and a possible alternative to university.
When required, I received the help I needed. All employees were always willing to help and answer any questions. The HR team also were relatively quick with their responses to any questions.
The work experience was unpaid however this was definitely not an issue as EY paid for a very nice hotel overnight and for food during the event. Travel expenses were also reimbursed but a couple of months after the event.
There were lots of opportunities outside of work including networking during breaks and during the dinner set up. We were also given free time in the evening to socialise.
Yes
A global company with many great opportunities and during my time I definitely felt valued. The perks such as the hotel stay were also a pull factor.
Research is absolutely essential and also being genuinely enthusiastic about the opportunities EY has to offer. Preparation is key for the telephone interview.
