I am an associate in the audit department at Grant Thornton. My job consist of being very client facing, thus, the majority of days I am out on client site, 'examining' their financials. A lot of responsibility is placed on school leavers, which is definitely beneficial. You deal with a lot of senior individuals, such as CEO's and financial Director's of large businesses.
I have learnt plenty of skills whilst being at Grant Thornton, from Excel training to increased confidence. I am currently studying level 4 AAT, which has dramatically increased my knowledge of accounting.
I enjoy my programme a lot - I feel as though there is good amount of responsibility given to you and you are always learning
Grant Thornton are very good at providing a supportive newtwork, which includes a people manager who you meet with often to discuss your progress.
It is very well organised. We all have online timetables, so we know which days we should be at college and when we should be at work
My training provider is fairly supportive
Grant Thornton are supportive. If you feel you need more support they will always assist you. I have a good relationship with plenty of the managers, who will help me in any situation
They meet my costs adequately, however this is because I live with my parents.
