My job title is the Store Apprentice. This job contains many daily tasks like working as efficient as possible to complete tasks as quickly as I can. I have many daily interactions like communication between staff members, members of management and also the customers. We also have daily interactions externally with other companies coming to deliver our goods like the milk man and the newspapers. I have many responsibilities in my job, I must make sure that all stock is rotated correctly so the oldest stock is at the front to reduce wastage and also making sure that tasks are completed as quickly and as efficiently as possible.
I have learnt and also developed my existing skills, for example, I am developing my existing skills as communication and listening are key factors in the role I have in Aldi. I am also learning new skills within Aldi, for example I have participated in a first aid course so I am able to sort out any problems that occur in store and will also help me outside of work also. I have learnt since working in Aldi and it's been a great experience.
I really enjoy working for Aldi, it's a massive step up from my old part time job and it's a step I'm glad i've taken. I think I've also enjoyed it most as the team I work with is faultless and everyone pulls their weight. Working in Aldi went above my expectations of working here and I can't wait to move up in the future.
I feel valued as an employee in Aldi as my managers never fail to praise me when i've done a good job and that makes me feel better about myself. I also feel valued as I get a great involvement with day to day tasks during working hours.
I think my programme is well organised as I have been given the correct induction and training whilst starting my job. I also get given plenty of time during shift to complete any work booklets that need to be completed for my course. I also have a strong connection with all my managers and I can talk to them confidently about any questions or problems I may come across. The only negative I have is that I was expecting to have a few more support meetings with my mentor than I have in the past to try and get my ahead.
I feel the support I receive from my training provider is okay, but could be improved with more meetings, but when I do have meetings with my training provider she's faultless and helps me with any problems i have.
I receive a great amount of support from my employer, my managers guide me whenever I have any problems whilst working. I also think that more meeting's with my mentor could help complete the coursework sooner and get me to strive to the next level.
My salary is okay for my age. Some months I may struggle due to my hourly rate or not enough hours as I'm saving a lot of my money for a holiday, new car and thinking of saving for a deposit to get my own place and to be independent.
There are not that many opportunities outside of work like company events/activities, there has been talk of a Aldi football team and compete against other businesses and get a greater bond with your work collegues
Yes
I would recommend Aldi to a friend as it's a great company to work for and very enjoyable.
The tips and advice i would give to others is to look presentable, and try to sell yourself to the company as once you're in it's a fantastic company to work for
