I work within the Service Integration and Quality team. This involves working globally on a daily basis. I have worked with many existing and proposed services, ensuring they are/will be integrated efficiently and working the best they can be.
I have developed many skills during my apprenticeship. I have completed the ITIL foundation qualification, as well as developing personal skills such as teamwork, management and time-keeping.
I enjoy the team I work with, and the work I complete. There is also a nice apprentice community in our office which is great.
Unilever are very enthusiastic about apprenticeships. I have lots of support from my line manager, as well as the wider community within Unilever, other teams and employees.
The programme is well organised and there is plenty of training and support available for all apprentices. When you start there is an induction and you are always offered support from the apprentice delivery team if needed.
Our training provider visits on a monthly basis, offering support and guidance. We discuss progress and future plans for completing our training. Other than this, if we ever need help we can always contact our assessor who will reply quickly.
My line manager is very supportive. We have weekly discussions in relation to my work and qualifications to ensure I am up to date and have the correct amount of work to do. Our mentor is also very supportive and it is great to be confident and have someone to speak to if we do have any issues.
For an apprenticeship we are on a great starting wage. All my bills are covered and I still have a fair amount of disposable income every month.
There are plenty of opportunities outside of work. Unilever have lots of company events and activities for us to get involved with. There is a close connection with the local community in our office which is great.
Yes
Unilever is a great company to work for. The work is enjoyable and they pay a good wage to their apprentices. They are also very supportive.
The process to apply is fairly long, there are online tests followed by an telephone interview and then an assessment day. But just be confident and be yourself.
