Maintaining gas pipework systems that feed into towns and local businesses
I've learnt specific skills to my job such as how to carry out functional checks on the equipment I'm using and also how to use various different hand tools.
I find the programme interesting as I'm learning about things I've never done before and picking up new skills and qualifications
I feel valued because national grid are investing time and money into my development within the company
I feel as though the programme could be organised slightly better such as time spent in one place as there's periods of heavy travel between different training locations that could possibly be avoided.
I feel whenver I need help or guidance that it's available to me
I feel that whenever I need help or guidance it's availble to me
Being on the upper end of the apprenticeship age limit, I have slightly more things to pay for than a new school leaver therefore it's quite a low wage currently than what I've been used to, however it will progress into a very good wage over the years. I think for a school leaver the apprenticeship wage is very good compared to other companies.
My working location organises get togethers every couple of months or so
