I am a Private Client Tax Higher Apprentice and my role predominately involves working on various complex tax returns for High Net Worth individuals - I work mainly on compliance so a lot of my day job involves interacting with HMRC and dealing with other 3rd parties to get all of the relevant information we need in order to complete the tax returns in a timely manner.
I have learnt so much in 2 years and am working towards my professional qualifications as well as good on the job training.
We have a great culture with a really friendly team. It's good to interact with the other apprentices in the other departments as well.
Good - the Managers are very supportive and appreciate the work that I do. They are happy to share their advice/tips whenever I have questions and they let me know how my work feeds into what they're doing.
Very good - I know what courses I need to go on and they make it fit with the work that I need to complete as well. We regularly have team events etc which is great to know how my peers are getting on too.
Really good - they send any relevant reading through ahead of the courses/sessions.
My main interactions are with the Managers in the team, however I do also get exposure to Partners when I need to.
With all of the benefits and training, plus the fact we get overtime in busy season, I think my package is good.
Yes - it's very social and there are always different events which we are able to attend.
