Day to day I'm a software developer specialising in the Microsoft stack. I'm often required to attend various meetings regarding the project I'm part of, and deliver new functionality to businesses.
Since my time at Capgemini I've progressed in many areas, development most specifically Microsoft Dynamics CRM and communication skills as examples. I'd say the biggest change has been my confidence, delivering demonstrations and being part of large projects has really helped me to believe I can reach my full potential.
I really enjoy everything the programme has to offer, I love being part of the workplace and helping empower business to deliver their vision for the future. The degree can be tough at times as a lot of work is required but in the end it's all worth it.
At Capgemini I feel as though my contributions are noted, and we have a good rewards programme so good work never goes unnoticed.
At first the structure of the programme was a bit all over the place in all honesty, however it has a come along way since I joined back in 2012 but there is still room for improvement.
Through our training provider they have weekly drop in sessions to support us in our learning. Distance learning can be difficult for both parties however everyone tries to make it as easy as possible and it's been a good job so far.
From our employer we receive a lot of support, and I've been there where I'm on the edge in terms of keeping on track after failing an exam. However, the were understanding and patient with me, asking what do I need to make sure I pass and just wanted to understand the current situation. The support was very welcoming.
My salary is a good competitive one considering everything involved and after discussing with my friends who are a similar programme, mine offers a lot more.
There are plenty to get involved in whether that be charity or promoting work, it allows to give back and you feel like you're making a difference.
