During my work experience at M&G Investments, I worked with the Experienced Hires Resourcing Team which is a department of the Human Resources Team. I learnt about new systems such as PageUp and SHL. I had to monitor emails and use SHL to send Online Testings to any candidates. I attended meeting with members of the team. I also had meeting with members of the other departments of Human Resources. We met with the new CEO and were provided a chance to question her about role and her journey to where she is. We attended the Apprenticeships Insight Evening which was about the choices available to us after college or sixth form. We learnt about the different ways and stages in our education we could get an apprenticeship. They also organised a workshop in which we were advised about CV’s and interviews.
I feel that I have developed my communication skills as I asked many questions. I have also improved my confidence.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience.
I feel really valued. We were provided with many opportunities and we were entitled to the same rights as the rest of the workers.
It was well organised however, extra meeting were added. Although they were useful, it was a bit confusing.
They were really friendly and helpful. They treated me equally and didn't look down on me because of my age or the fact that I was there simply for work experience.
I was able to easily approach them with any concerns that I had and they were very lenient and understanding when I had to take a day off due to religious reasons.
We were provided with lunch passes and at the end of the scheme we had to fill out a form on travel reimbursements.
From what I am aware of there are many opportunities outside of work. However, I am only here for a week and being 15 I am underage and therefore unable to participate in these activities.
Yes
They have a good working environment and try to engage you and make you feel welcomed.
I would advise them to make the most of their opportunity and to ask a lot of questions.
