my day to day role in the training centre was to learn and carry out theoreticle and practile training activities. On the shop floor I am currently shadowing engineers and performing supervised tasks.
I have learent skills in the electrical and mechanical field of work. I learnt these skills from scratch having no engineering expearance but was able to progress and develop skills in both these fields.
I am enjoying the program very much as it offers alot of hands on practicle learning and th necisary support for my learning.
I feel valued as part of the shift team, I was accepted into the team straight away and th engineers offer me suuficient support and advive when performing tasks.
The program is well structured, providing us with a years off site training in a training centre to provide us with basic engineering principles as well as allowing us access to sufficient support provided to help wit the work.
I have recieved alot of support from the training provider as well as additional support as and when required, such as if I have not understood something correctly.
I have recieved sufficient support from my employer both on the shop floor, providing me with everything I would need to complete my tasks, as well as help building my portfolio of the jobs that I complete.
My sallary is sufficiant for someone in my possion. It covers the costs of running a car whilst living with parents, although their is the oppertunity for performance based pay rises each year.
Outside of work my attention is focus on the written side of the program, this includes writing assignments for my college course as well as completing writen reports of the tasks I have carried out that day for my portfolio. There is sufficient support available for this from college, my employer as well as colleagues.
