On a day to day basis my role can vary greatly. From repairing existing machinery both mechanically and electrically to correcting bugs within PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) Software to carrying out continuous Improvemtbt projects that improve production figures.
I've learnt to: Maintain And work on million pound manufacturing lines with a combination of both old and new technology Developed my fault finding skills Developed my team working skills
I've their ought enjoyed my apprenticeship programme. It has enabled me to develop so much as both an engineer and also a person and equipped me with the skills and experience I require to make myself employable. While on the apprenticeship I have: Taken part in the red bull Soapbox Race 2012 Been abroad to visit new machinery Conducted and Managed projects on a wider scale Been able to take part within the World Skills Competition achieving 4th out of 8 teams And lastly been able to be a candidate and then the Winner of the Food and Drink Federation Apprentice of the year
Very valued. I am a member of a bigger family (maybe a son/nephew) :)
because the scheme has been running for a while it is very structured and organised
The training provider is really good, which is why myself and the remainder of my year have passed or apprenticeships with straight distinctions and also 1st classes within our Foundation Degrees
A lot of support
At Mondelez Apprentices are paid greatly over the national minimum wage. This coupled with the training and investment into developing apprentices is first class

Go for it, Don't think twice. Never in a million years did I think that a kid (myself) from inner city Birmingham would be able to achieve and even do half the things that I have ie. FDF National Apprentice of the year 2015, Redbull SoapBox Race 2012, World Skills 2015 Industrial Control Highly commended, etc.
