I was part of the business insight week in July 2016. Each day I was shadowing a school leaver in a certain team, on Monday I was in private client, Tuesday CCS, Wednesday IMAP and Thursday Transaction Services. On Friday I was part of a charitable client project.
I have learnt ICT skills by using Excell and communication and teamwork skills by working on the client project on Friday .
The programme was enjoyable, however some sectors of tax were a little dull, but IMAP and TS were really enjoyable.
Everyone I was shadowing appreciated were I was at that moment with a lack of knowledge in the field and helped guide me through what they do on a day to day basis, so I felt very highly valued for the position I held!
The programme was structured well as most of the time the teams had jobs for you to do and show you and the project on the final day was very interesting.
They were very helpful as they were quick to answer any queries that you had and were on hand if you came into any difficulty
As I was only there for a week I didn't need much support from the employer.
For a weeks work experience I didn't expect to be paid so it is very good to get paid.
Yes, I have heard a lot about the social events held by the different teams, however since I was only there for a week I didn't experience these.
Yes
It was a very relaxed, yet professional working environment that was highly enjoyable and rewarding
It may be hard to get into and the application process may be a pain but it is worth it
