On a normal day we would have around 4 presentations on job roles such as Project Management,Construction management, sustainability and facilities management. This would be followed with a Q&A on the job and their own routes into the industry. A quick task to build leadership and implement the new knowledge. On other days we would visit a site such as Chelsea Barracks to see constructions first hand.
From the presentations and tasks i have learnt a lot about the industry and how it works but also improved my team skills, leadership skills and presentational skills. The final day really pushed our teams to work well under time conditions and i learnt alot from that.
The variety ensured it was enjoyable with something new to look forward to every day. The work environment at Mace was inspiring and everyone i met seemed interested and answered all my questions. The Site tours were very interesting as we saw constructions at its rawest stage.
Everyone i met at Mace seemed interested in my background and was helpful in giving good advice and answering my questions. The fact we met their Executive Chairman meant a alot.
From the start we were given a programme with timings to ensure we knew what we were doing. The programme was very well set out with interesting tasks and little repetition of tasks.

The course was extremely useful as it enlightened me to how innovative Mace is and how exciting the construction industry is. I was allowed to experience construction on the sites which was useful.

Also by meeting lots of people it gave us the opportunity to ask useful questions.

Firstly research on their website to understand each different role so that you can add to your notes while the presentation is going. Ask lots of questions and you could prepare a few to make sure.
