Apprentice Mechanical Fitter Review

My role as a Mechanical fitting apprentice involves working with tradesman on tasks such as; honing, fitting systems, facing off etc.. to learn the skills need to become a qualified tradesman myself.

I have gained my NVQ levels 2 and 3, key skills and other personal skills through college. Through my apprenticeship I have learnt many skills that will help me become a competent mechanical fitter.

I enjoy the company of my squad at work, they are easy to get along with and work alongside. The companies nature of work is very good and it suits my needs perfectly.

At BAE systems I feel very valued you are not treat as a number you are treat like a person. if I carry out a job well I will receive praise for it.

The apprenticeship programme, considering it has recently changed to a computer system, is very well structured and it is easy to get my work done.

I personally have had 3 training instructors with the influx of many more mechanical apprentices coming in to the business which has had a slight effect on my training but overall has been ok.

I receive plenty of support through my employer, if I have a problem I can ask my manager and it can be rectified.

My salary meets my needs very well, but could do with a Christmas bonus.

There are occasional charity sports events that can be attended outside of work but I think this is something that needs working on by the company.
