I spent three days with the tax - global mobility team, where I shadowed my buddy (a current higher apprentice) and gained a great insight into the department as a result. The work consisted of sitting in on client briefings and also helping compile a billing document for work on a client.
Through this programme I have strengthened my networking capabilities through interaction with many members of the team. I have also learnt many other skills such as time management when assigned tasks.
The programme has been massively enjoyable throughout the job shadowing aspects. My buddy was very friendly and also made it a very exciting and enjoyable week! However, we also spent the first day at the london office for a welcome event, and although this was a nice office I felt that it was rather pointless going to london for this event as the event actually consisted of a lot of administration regarding the laptops that they gave us for the weeks.
I felt very valued by PwC during the programme, as they assigned me a personal buddy who was a current higher apprentice and could therefore answer every question i had regarding the recruitment process. Also, on one of the days the department director actually took time out of his busy schedule to talk to me about his role and answer any other questions I had. This shows how important they value their recruitment.
The programme has an excellent structure and every detail was thought through clearly. My buddy organised a very interesting week and it was very rare that I was left with nothing to do. My only issue was the London welcome event as it wasn't necessary to be held in London.
There was a lot of support given by my buddy, and also by the recruitment team.
There was a lot of support from everyone.
I was very impressed that this was actually a paid placement, and just reinforces the value that PwC place in you for the week.
Through my interactions with employees, there definitely are opportunities however i didn't experience any of these due to the length and nature of the programme.
Yes
It seemed like an excellent place to work that places a lot of value in its employees
Make sure you apply to the business insight week as it will provide an invaluable experience and great insight into the future careers with PwC.
