  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Usually sat down at desk after an informative presentation and was given work to complete from the relevant department. Throughout the day employees would ask for my assistance on certain cases.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Pinsent Masons?
  • I did feel valued by Pinsent Masons, I was even told by one employee that the specific piece of work I was completing would have a big impact on the floor of that department.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I couldn't fault the structure. Before the programme had started everyone from the same and different offices participating on the programme had multiple opportunities before and throughout the programme to the to know each other through a Facebook group (including live chats with each other and Trainee Solicitors)! The presentations given were also extremely valuable.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • This is not applicable specifically. The employees gave me regular feedback about how well my work was that I had completed. It was also very useful to be given ways to improve so I know how I can do even better in the future.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • The placement was during the inter-firm sports week. We were all given the opportunity to see a sporting event between firms on the Thursday and had multiple opportunities to socialise with trainees.

  • 9. Would you recommend Pinsent Masons to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • The help, support, and advice they offer isn't only extremely useful during the placement, but for afterwards as well! The employees gave me advice for during sixth form, applying to Uni, securing a Vacation Scheme, and securing a training contract. Was also interesting to hear about the Legal Practice Course from a trainee's point of view!

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Pinsent Masons?
  • Definitely don't be shy! Be honest on your application form and remember to "be yourself". Tell Pinsent Masons about how your skills from your extra-circular and super-curricular activities would be useful on a placement!
