There was a great variety of roles, each day was very different as I spent time in each line of service, which involved a mixture of client site visits and office based work.
I have learnt a lot more about PwC as a firm and what sort of work they do and the variety of clients they work with. I have developed my communication and leadership skills as well, mainly through the team project on the last day.
I really enjoyed the programme, it was not what I was expecting as I didn't realise how much variety there would be and how everyday would be so different, but I thought this was a good thing.
I felt valued by PwC as everybody working there was very welcoming and friendly, they trusted us with expensive laptops and were more than willing to help and expose you to 'real' work.
The programme was very well structured, the first day was good to meet everyone and get an overview of PwC as a firm. Each day was planned and I knew who I would be working with, the last day also was structured well.
Good support was provided by PwC throughout, the recruitment team were really helpful and encouraging to contact them if you had any questions. The daily Webex was also useful and a good opportunity to receive more support and guidance.
The buddies that I worked with were all really supportive and friendly, they welcomed me to their team and were more than willing to provide information and answer any questions that I had.
The pay was very good and a lot higher than I was expecting, it covered my travel costs to the base office, and travel to the client site was organised by my buddies.
From what I learnt from speaking to employees PwC has a lot of opportunities outside of work, from drinks on a Friday night, to charity events and team bonding exercises.
Yes
Nothing during the week put me off in any way from wanting to work for PwC in the future, there was a friendly environment and everybody seemed to genuinely enjoy the work they do.
Make sure you spend a lot of time researching PwC and what it does so you have some basic knowledge before applying. Prepare well for the interview and look on the careers website, especially at the key professional competencies that they look for.
