I spend three days a week doing a City & Guilds Level 2 course in Electrical Installations at Northbrook college. For the other two days of the week I come into work and take part in jobs with the day electricians in my department and help with jobs they are given.
I have gained a level 3 NVQ in electronics and a Level 2 NVQ in electrical instalation, at work I am constantly developing my tool skills and communication skills.
The program is great, I enjoy going to work and college and look forward to the time with GSK ahead of me.
I feel very valued, I am treated as an equal and people dont ask me to do tasks I do not want to.
The structure is good, Its a good mix of college and on the site training which helps develop both my theoretical and practical knowledge.
My training provider is always there if i need help but I have not had to deal with them yet.
GSk always treat me well and support me with college books and tools, they are always there to help me and my boss always checks on me to see how im doing.
yes it does, I can happily pay my rent and car and other expenses and have money left over to spend freely.
There are often work days out at different events or places as well as trups away to training courses.
Yes
I look forward to going to work and am getting a brilliant start to my career at a young age.
