I help the fitters carry out Mechanical maintenance and breakdown activities, I also go to college 4 days a week and study mechanical engineering.
I have learned many new skills whilst completing my apprenticeship. these include personal skills such as communication skills and engineering skills and tool use.
I enjoy going to work. I like learning new things and putting my practical skills to use. The team are always willing to help you. The programme exceeded any expectations I had before I joined. I enjoy working with the people I have met at GSK, I enjoy the culture of the company and most importantly I enjoy the job I do here.
I am treated equally like anyone else and am often given praise by co workers and managers.
the structure of the programme has improved and is a well structured programme for the new apprentices. We have a weekly apprentice meeting where all the engineering apprentices gather together and express there views on any type of topic concerning them and to just ask any questions we may have also.
We often have catchups with our NVQ assesor who helps us with out coursework and NVQ work, this allows us to do our very best and ask any questions we have.
Any problems I may have, whether they are work related or not, I can always receive help from my colleagues or boss. I feel that I am never alone with a problem and that I can ask any question I want and it will be answered and resolved.
If you know how to budget each month then you will have no problems paying your bills and still living well.
There are many off site courses you can take park in as well as fun activities as a team work/ bonding trip.
