Shadowing a buddy who works in a particular field within PWC ; Assurance/tax/consulting. Attending meetings, helping with some work, shadow employees from other fields for a couple of hours.
I learnt about alternative routes to university and what PWC offers. More about the processes and application processes after university. Relationships, networking, are very important.
I enjoyed working with my buddy and talking to a wide range of people about their roles. The environment was comfortable.
I was treated with respect by everyone I talked to during my week at PWC. People were willing to happily answer my questions and talk to me about their roles.
My week was flexible as I was with my buddy most of the time and she was relaxed. However, I was able to experience the working day for how it actually is rather than have everything too structured.
She supported me alot and gave answers to all my questions. She also arranged a number of meetings for me to talk to people from different departments and people who took different routes to uni.
I was able to have a short conversation with one manager and she was very friendly and willing to answer questions. I was not able to talk to many people who had a role above SA
All costs excluding lunch were paid for. We were also given 9.40 per hour which is good considering we applied for work experience.
Yes I was made aware of colleague holidays aswell as regular nights out on fridays. I was also told about a charity event run by PWC which all employees take part in.
Yes
A very friendly environment as well as being professional at the same time. They have a variety of their own programmes such as spark which allows you to communicate with your colleagues.
Use the practice available on E-learn. always be prepared e.g interviews can be prepared for by searching up common interview questions and writing answers for them.
