Monday and Friday were days with everyone in the programme. Monday was an induction day where I learnt about PwC and the different lines of business the firm is involved in.
I developed my skill of note taking whilst on a call with a client with my buddy. I also learnt how to read company's financial statements. Hopefully I will be able to use these skills later in life.
I really enjoyed this programme as I got to work in a large accounting company with people who want to help you. It's a great experience.
I felt valued as I had access to all of PwC's facilities and I was treated like a member of staff. When I say we could use their facilities, I meant there was free hot chocolate from the machines! ;)
The programme is well structured with the two days at the start and end but at some points it was not very organised such as my buddy didn't have work for me all the time. But in the middle of summer I was not expecting to have too much to do.
I got loads of support from the people who plan the programme as I could always email them (using my PwC email address). There is an induction day but no official training before the programme starts.
I got lots of support from my buddy as I could always ask her for advice through out the day. There was also a group on the PwC network where we could ask each other questions and blog about our day.
It met my costs well as all travel costs were paid for using a sheet they gave us at the beginning of the week.
There are no opportunities outside work as the placement is only for a week.
Yes
The programme is great and I learnt loads from all the people in the office. I can also write worked at PwC on my CV which will look great.
Some of the tests are hard so practice lots and do your best in the interview. It is very competitive.
