I was fortunate enough to be able to visit various departments;property, construction, litigation and TMT. My supervisor(s) at each department gave me an overview of their role as well as setting me related tasks.
Through this work experience I have developed my communication skills by being in contact with so many different people, and learnt the general fundamentals of law which are extremely useful.
I believe that the varied nature of the programme makes it thoroughly enjoyable and all the staff at Pinsent Masons have been kind and approachable.
The amount of planning and preparation put into the experience really makes you feel valued, as well as the importance of some of the tasks that are given to you.
The programme was very well structured because it incorporated many different aspects of an occupation in law and allowed interaction with a whole variety of tasks.
My supervisor thoroughly explained my relevant task and provided plenty of support; offering advice if I ever needed to ask any and always being approachable
Pinsent Masons provided a whole range of support for me including many books detailing further opportunities at the firm and different presentations on certain parts of law
Being a work experience pupil, I had to buy my lunch every day apart from the first, however there were many nearby shops that provided everything I needed
I have been invited to a couple of social events outside of work and I have only been here for a week, therefore highlighting the social atmosphere of the firm
Yes
I believe if you are interested in law it provides a firm insight into various parts of occupations within law, and shows which parts suit you the best
I would say preparation is key; send off your application well before the deadline and come in with an open mind as you never know which aspects will interest you the most
