I was put into four different departments during my week with Pinsent Masons: Litigation, Property, Corporate and TMT. The tasks I was given varied, but some general examples are filling in forms, summarising articles and analysing documents.
During my week I have improved personal skills such as confidence in my work and working both independently and as part of a team. My practical skills have also improved, for example, in speed typing and reading.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my week at Pinsent Masons, and would highly recommend it to others considering applying to the work experience programme.
Everyone at Pinsent Masons has been particularly approachable, and I felt confident to approach my supervisor when I had any questions. Every team I worked with was friendly and open, which made it a really nice environment to work in.
The programme was very well organised, and each day went smoothly. The structure allowed us (the work experience students) to get a taste of four different departments and also to get four presentations covering various and relevant topics. It was rally interesting and very helpful.
All of my supervisors were really supportive. They took into account the fact that I don't have much legal knowledge and were able to explain things to me very well. I feel like I have learned a lot this week, and the insight I got into law being put into practice has been invaluable.

NA. I was a work experience student so I did not get paid for my placement at Pinsent Masons.
Although I didn't participate in any during my week's placement, we learned about the numerous opportunities available to staff at Pinsent Masons to participate in voluntary work, for example in the Starfish project. This is something that the company prides itself on and is an admirable initiative.
Yes
The experience I have gained from Pinsent Masons has been amazing; not only was it really helpful and something that will put me in good stead when I come to studying law or during a training contract, but it has been so enjoyable as well.
Ensure that you research Pinsent Masons so that you get an understanding of what their focuses are.
