Work Experience Placement Each day presented different tasks as I was located into a separate department daily, i.e. Monday/ Tuesday- Banking and Restructuring, Wednesday- Commercial, Thursday- Property and Friday- Projects Tasks includes in depth research of clients, proof-read, completing search reports, debenture check lists, advise documents etc I attended court to drop off some documents with my trainee
Yes definitely, I didn't gain a qualification but I gained useful and specific departmental knowledge that can be applied in the future I have developed many of my existing skills including communication, organisation, confidence etc I have also learnt how to adapt myself in situations outside of my comfort zone that will hopefully occur again in the future- starting at a successful law firm
I really enjoyed it!!!! Everyone was so welcoming and friendly, it allowed me to thrive and learn in the workplace The culture at Pinsent Masons is so desirable
I felt like a valued team member, I was made to feel so comfortable and secure
Well- we had a designated timetable with specific talks and 'seats' that we sat in daily However, some departments were more organised for us than others Some of them had prepared tasks and a choice for us to select the desired one, others were struggling to find tasks for us to participate in- this was rare though
The support was amazing- the trainees were always so friendly and attentive to our needs They were always happy to discuss the tasks in hand and were ready to give positive but relevant feedback
The support was so good- the brand always kept updating us with information They offered online Facebook chats where we could ask questions etc.
I did not receive a salary for this programme as it was Work Experience
Yeah, there are many opportunities to progress on at Pinsent Masons which I would be looking to do They attend many events like law fairs which I also would be looking to go to
Yes
It was such a well planned and eye opening experience. The brand prides themselves on a friendly and open environment to work in with helpful and attentive staff. This is a company I would love to become a part of in the future
Make sure you try and relate anything you do to Law Make the most of your experience- ask questions, don't be shy!!
