I was rotated between different departments (almost everyday) during my time in Pinsent. In each department, I work for a trainee solicitor. Most of the task that I was allocated were research tasks.
I learnt skills such as drafting checklists with reference to previous precedents, and to make use of online resources to conduct legal research.
I enjoyed my programme very much. I get to meet new people, talk to current trainees and solicitors and gained insight in the operations of an international law firm.
I would say fairly valued, because when I asked trainees about application processes and qualifying routes, they were very helpful.
The programme was very well structured, I had a presentation almost every morning and then joined practice groups for the rest of the day.
A lot of support in terms of advice for applying for a training contract and how to approach an assessment day.

Not applicable. My placement was a non-paid placement.
Yes, there were drinks and quiz nights after work. However, due to the fact that my work experience was during half term, I didn't have the chance to take part in any of these.
Yes
Overall, this was a very positive experience. I had the opportunity to meet a lot of new people and had valued opinions on matters relating to future applications and training contracts. The trainees were very friendly too!
Definitely start early on your application, because it is a fairly lengthy process. Also, if you're offered a place, make the most out of it!
